Californian Quail in Colour Pencil, Art Print

This stunning art print showcases a Tikaokao (Californian Quail).

Introduced game birds, realitively common now throughout New Zealand in open scrublands. Males are more colourful with a prominent plume, while females tend to be a little smaller both in stature and plume size. They gather in large groups or coveys.

Drawn with Faber-Castell Polychromos colour pencils, the inspiration for this drawing comes from an original photograph taken by the artist at Shakespeare Regional Park in Whangaparāoa Peninsular.
